Naval Chief Inaugurates Official Housing For Personnel In Accounts And Budget

In a significant step towards enhancing the welfare of naval personnel, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral E.I. Ogalla, Admiralty Medal, officially commissioned new official accommodation for Senior Officers of the Accounts and Budget Branch at Tamandu Barracks in Apapa, Lagos State.

The newly completed facility features five units of fully furnished three-bedroom duplexes, specifically designed to serve as official residences for senior officers within the branch. This initiative is a critical milestone in addressing the living standards and welfare needs of naval personnel, reflecting the Navy’s ongoing commitment to its members.

During the commissioning ceremony, Vice Admiral Ogalla praised the Chief of Accounts and Budget for successfully executing the project. He highlighted the facility as a symbol of the Navy’s dedication to improving personnel welfare, stating, “This edifice is not just a building; it represents our commitment to ensuring that our officers are well accommodated and motivated in their duties.”

The CNS further emphasized the importance of maintaining a professional and conducive working environment. He encouraged the officers to view the accommodation as an extension of their home, reminding them that “to whom much is given, much is expected.” His remarks underscored the responsibility that comes with such benefits, urging officers to take pride in their new residences.

As part of the ceremony, Vice Admiral Ogalla formally handed over the keys to the Chief of Accounts and Budget, expressing confidence that the facility would be utilized effectively by the officers.
