Organisers of the maiden edition of Alimosho Food Festival themed food, music and fun on Saturday said the event would help food vendors network and grow.

Voice of the masses reports that about 22 vendors participated in the festival which held at Abesan Youth Center.

Speaking with our Reporter on the inspiration behind the festival, Mr Isiaka Lawal, Chairman Sunquest Discovery Limited who doubles as the host said the festival would show that everything on the island is also available on the mainland in Lagos.

“We are here today to prove that you don’t really have to go to the island. We are starting something big here, something that will bring people in Alimosho Local Government together.

“We are building a platform to help small businesses grow by giving them a platform to showcase their business to so many people who don’t know about them.

“The essence of this is because we are building an app to help event planners and event organizers by saving them the stress of looking for vendors when they can easily use our app to locate their needed vendors.

“This is a first of its kind and we are coming up with a lot of things this year. We’re trying to dominate Alimosho and prove that people don’t need to go to the island.” he said.

Mr Abiodun Adekoya, the Creative Director added that Alimosho Food Festival is like a networking platform for food vendors to establish connection with their customers.

Adekoya further encouraged vendors to build on the contacts established for further patronage.

Nollywood actor and model, Joseph Momodu who was also at the event said he came to support the organisers, the vendors and also have fun having heard that the best of food would be on display at the festival.

He also said that the festival would help vendors showcase their menu and also network to grow their businesses.

“I came here to taste, eat and eat and eat. This particular kind of events will give vendors the opportunity to showcase, network and sell their stuff to other audience that do not know about their product.

“People may not know that you have a particular kind of product, but when you come together like this in a food village, people get to know more and more about what you sell so it’s basically networking and reaching out to more consumers so it’s a very significant one,” he said.

One of the vendors, Motunrade Larryade commended the organisers for the festival which she described as great step towards growing businesses of food vendors in Alimosho.

“I make and sell Tigernut drink, zobo drink and pepper. This is a great platform and I commend the organisers for bringing this to us,” she said.

VOM reports that residents and fun seekers trooped in to patronize the vendors who displayed variety of meals from from snacks to full course meal.

Comedians and artistes were also there to thrill fun seekers as they also engage in different games and competitions.
