Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has flagged off construction of the 6.4 kilometers Nnokwa-Adazi Enu-Akwaeze road.

The Governor who performed the Flag-off ceremony during a campaign event at Adazi-Tim Enu’s Arinze Okpala Memorial Hall, restated his policy of development politics in Anambra.

“We have come to flag off the Nnokwa-Adazi Enu-Akwaeze road, as we promised during our campaign. We had told the public that Anambra is experiencing a road crisis, to which we declared a state of emergency on the state roads.

“This is what politics is all about. The bottom line is, how have you used your position in public service to positively impact people’s lives”? Soludo inquired.

Soludo publicly singled out and commended APGA Vice Chairman, Anambra Central, Sir Theophine Nnoli, for recommending the road’s construction in a text message sent to him.

He was impressed that he didn’t ask for an appointment or a contract, but insisted that construction of the road will be highly beneficial to people of the area when completed.

“I asked a few Anaocha stakeholders about the true state of the road, and they confirmed that it is a top priority road due for construction in Anaocha.

Speaker further, the Governor said: “We employed 5000 teachers and shall still employ more teachers for our Technical and Special schools in the state.

“Anaocha is a large town with a well-developed road system. We will proceed to the next road once this one has been completed.

“We’ve only been in office for ten months. After one year in office, we will submit our report card to ndi Anambra for evaluation.

“We will return to commission this road in 12 months or less, as the Contractor has assured us.

“The 25th of February and 11th of March are critical dates. I implore you all to come out en masse and vote for APGA. Anambra will be better,” the Governor assured.

The Transition Committee Chairman for Anaocha Local Government Area, Hon. Ozo Ikechukwu Gerald, while thanking the Governor for the visit, praised him for the high quality of roads he is constructing, which are expected to last a minimum of 20 years, among interventions in health and security sectors.

He urged the people to vote APGA so that the party’s developmental policies could continue to thrive.

The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma, stated that Governor Soludo decided that all 21 LGAs will see road construction, with over 256km of roads already awarded.

He stated that the 6.4 km road connecting Idemili and Anaocha is strategic, with oxidable material removal and a catch pit.

“The road’s design includes cement stabilization and a 6-inch-thick stone base that is guaranteed to last for 20 years,” said the commissioner.

He also stated that the road would be completed in 12 months.

The APGA Candidate for Anambra State House of Assembly Anaocha Constituency 1, Hon Mrs Njideka Oraedum, praised the Governor for his advocacy for women participation in politics, adding that the Governor’s support encouraged her to run for the position, just as the APGA candidate for Anambra State House of Assembly, Anaocha Constituency 2, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu urged the people to massively support the present government by voting for APGA and pledged to continue to support the initiatives of the Governor from the State House of Assembly.

Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Chief Protocol officer, Hon Chinedu Nwoye, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Agam Obidike, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, Traditional Rulers, among others attended the event.
