Again NSCDC Lagos Command Recovers 3,896 Litres Of Stolen PMS

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos Command, has smashed a Premium Motor Spirit syndicate in Badagry Divisional axis of the State.

The state Commandant of the agency, Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, stated this at a press briefing while showcasing the seizures of the petroleum products, stolen by some economic saboteurs to NewsMen.

“On the account of the twenty four hours routine patrol, intelligence gathering, surveillance, monitoring of critical national assets and infrastructure, the Corps’ operatives discovered petroleum products suspected to be stolen by economic saboteurs and kept in a bush path at Epeme village in Olorunda LCDA, of Badagry, on Saturday, 18th February, 2023, at about 01:35hrs during wee hours.

While carrying out evacuation of the products, on the following day, Sunday, 19th February, 2023, the Corps operatives recovered about twenty three sacks of about hundred litres each and fifty seven yellow kegs of about twenty eight litres each of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol at the scene.

The total quantity of products recovered at the Epeme village totalled about three thousand eight hundred and ninety six litres of PMS.

The Commandant ordered that the exhibits recovered be brought to the State Command Headquarters, in Alausa, Ikeja, for further interrogation and investigation on the matter, in a bid to ascertain and bring the culprits suspected to be behind it to book.

On the coming election: the Commandant further hinted that strategies have been put in place in the interest of national security to address perceived security challenges before, during and after the elections and assured that Corps members will be adequately protected during the exercise.

He advised Lagosian to participate fully in the forthcoming elections, stating that adequate measures have been put in place by the government to guarantee a peaceful atmosphere across the country.

Alfadarai also reiterate his command’s resolve and commitment to stamp out oil theft, illegal dealings in petroleum products and vandalism of other critical national assets in Lagos State.
