The Afenifere National Youth Council (ANYC) has endorsed the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi and Sen. Datti Yusuf Baba-Ahmed as their candidate of choice for the 2023 presidential election.
ANYC National President, Prince Eniola Ojajuni revealed that the endorsement was in coalition of 147 formidable Yoruba Youths Groups in the South West led by Afenifere National Youth Council.
“We officially endorse HE Peter Gregory Obi and Sen. Datti Yusuf Baba-Ahmed as our candidate of choice for the 2023 presidential election.
“After wide consultations, we are glad to say his candidacy will address the many issues our country is facing right now, from infrastructure deficit to insecurity, poverty, health, education and the economy.
“We are not in doubt of his ability to perform, but we owe him the right to get him to the place he would perform through Our votes.
“Today, with other leaders of the sociopolitical groups, I Prince Barr Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, on behalf of the coalition endorse, HE Peter Obi as the best man for the job chosen by God to lead Nigeria to her Canaan Land.
“I beseech all well-meaning Nigerians to vote Peter Obi for a country with many possibilities and for us at the South West, we must stand up and be counted in this history-making election,” he said.
Otunba Tunde Talabi, also a member of ANYC said its quite unfortunate that Nigeria is at its present stage adding that it is time to wake up and choose the right leader.
“It is quite unfortunate that Nigeria is at this pedestal. Great nations have however gone through this and thank God we are finally waking up.
“We all need to come together and form a formidable pact to move Nigeria forward. Past leaders have done their parts and gone. Youths of today should not fold their hands, it is time to unite.
“Clamoring for separation will do us no good, so why not unite. Peter Obi will turn the ship around so that Nigeria can be on the right direction,” he said.
The Labour Party Chairman in Lagos, Mrs. Dayo Ekong commended ANYC adding that the group had taken a formidable step in putting up the event to endorse Peter Obi.
“This is a bold step in the right direction. What we are doing is standing up for what is right and this is what Nigeria needs as we are at the last stage of deciding our future.
“This is a time to come out and declare for the truth, declare for a person that can lead Nigeria in the right direction. Peter Obi stands for capacity, competency, hope and brighter Nigeria.
“A new Nigeria is coming, it is here. Ignore ethnic sentiment in taking these steps of voting Obi/Datti so that Nigeria and Nigerians will be rescued,” he said.
Dr Mrs Anita Nana Okuribido, also commended ANYC, adding that Peter Obi is the light who will dispel the darkness in Nigeria’s democracy.
Okuribido said all hands should be on deck to make sure Peter Obi becomes the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
