The Special Task Force Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) on Wednesday 22 March 2023, distributed palliatives to 100 physically challenged persons and widows in Sanga Local government area of Kaduna State.
This was contained in a press statement signed by OPSH’s Media Information Officer, Captain Oya James.
Speaking during the event held at Headquarters Forward Operating Base (FOB) Sanga, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim, said people living with disabilities are key stakeholders and they must be treated specially in the society.
According to James “Major General Ibrahim expressed delight over the bond that exist between people of different ethnic backgrounds and religious groups residing in the Sanga general area. While assuring of the commitment of OPSH in safeguarding lives and property of residents, the commander advised the people to prioritise peace in the interest of younger generation and generations unborn.
In his opening remarks, the commander FOB Sanga, Major Mohammed Galadima, said the gesture was aimed at encouraging the physically challenged persons and widows in the society. He revealed that the palliatives distribution was part of OPSH civil-military activities designed to assist the less privileged and give them a sense of belonging.
The FOB commander admonished the people to be ambassadors of peace, in order to allow OPSH achieve its mandates. He further thanked the commander for providing the needed support for the success of the event.
Delivering the vote of thanks at the event, the Utu Fada Ninzo, His Royal Highness Dr Umaru Musa, lauded OPSH for the gesture and urged the people to stay together as one.
Highlights of the occasion were the distribution of palliatives to 100 widows & physically challenged persons, decoration of a newly promoted officer from the rank of Second Lieutenant to Lieutenant, commissioning of the newly built gate of Headquarters FOB Sanga & Quarter guard, cultural display by Ruwan Baya troupe among others.
