Police Operatives collaborating with the Staff of Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare on 12/5/2023 by 5:45 pm at Nkpor by King of Glory road, rescued a girl of 8 years old, miss Idimmachikwu and arrested Mrs Chinyere Ifesinachi 25 yrs from Alor Idemili South LGA Anambra.
The arrest is following a trending video/public outcry of the residents of the area seen Miss Idimmachikwu with different degrees of injuries all over her body allegedly perpetuated by her guardian Mrs Ifesinachi.
The child is currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
Meanwhile, the case has since been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department SCID, for comprehensive investigation as directed by the Commissioner of Police CP Echeng Echeng.
The CP has frowned at such inhuman treatment subjected to some housemaids/help by their guardians, assuring that the command will continue to do everything within his power to protect the vulnerable of such.
The case shall be charged to court on the conclusion of the investigation and justice shall be served.
