The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, and Former Inspector General of Police, Dr. Solomon Arase, has charged National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Members serving in the Commission to continuously improve themselves and strive to make significant impact wherever they find themselves.
He made this known in a release by the Commission’s Public Relations Officer, Ikechukwu Ani.
Arase who told the members to ask themselves “In my little space, what have I contributed, what impact have I made” added that they should not stop improving themselves since it is their intellectual depth that will take them far in life.
During the meeting, Arase highlighted the significance of the NYSC members’ role in nation-building and urged them to actively engage in the ongoing Security Sector Reforms.
He called upon them to contribute to improving the relationship between the police and the youth in Nigeria while acknowledging the modest allowances currently provided to NYSC members in the Commission and pledged to address the issue.
Additionally, he expressed interest in retaining those interested in continuing their service beyond the mandated duration.
He addressed emphasized the vital role of the NYSC members in shaping the future of Nigeria, urging them to become agents of positive change and contribute to building a safer and more prosperous nation.
He emphasized the need for visionary individuals in Nigeria and expressed his desire to witness the emergence of exceptional men and women from the Corps Members serving in the Commission.
The PSC Chairman also urged them to actively participate in the Security Sector Reforms and contribute to winning the trust and support of the general public.
