The Commissioner of Police for Delta State Command, Wale Abass, has demonstrated heartfelt support as he presented cheques totaling Thirty-Three Million, Two Hundred and Seventy-Five Thousand, Eight Hundred And Forty Naira (#33,275,840) to the families of deceased officers who lost their lives while serving the nation.
The cheques, distributed on behalf of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Alkali Baba Usman, were part of the comprehensive insurance schemes available to police officers and their families.
The Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes have been instrumental in extending financial assistance to the bereaved families.
During the presentation, CP Abass expressed gratitude to the IGP for his compassionate gesture, recognizing the significant impact these cheques would have on the families’ well-being.
He emphasized that the act was a testament to the force’s commitment to honor the sacrifices made by their fallen heroes.
The CP assured the families that their loved ones’ service and dedication would never be forgotten.
In response, one of the beneficiaries conveyed her heartfelt appreciation on behalf of all the families, expressing gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for his unwavering support. She assured everyone present that the funds would be used responsibly and in a manner that honors the memory of their beloved officers.
