The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has praised the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) for its remarkable resilience in successfully conducting both the Logistics Staff Course (LSC) and the Senior Leadership and Staff Officers Course (SLSOC) concurrently at their permanent sites in Moloney and Ojo, respectively.

The COAS expressed his appreciation during the graduation ceremony of the Logistics Staff Course (LSC) 20/2023, which took place on June 22, 2023, at the NACOLM permanent site in Ojo Cantonment, Lagos State.

Represented by the General Officer Commanding 81 Division (GOC 81 Div), Major General Obinna Ajunwa, the COAS noted that the event was significant as the College was actively repositioning itself to strengthen its capacity in producing proficient logisticians and middle cadre leaders for the Nigerian Army.

He expressed confidence in the improved quality of the graduating students due to the substantial resources invested in enhancing the facilities at the permanent site and the Moloney Campus.

The COAS emphasized that these efforts were crucial for enhancing the overall capabilities of the Nigerian Army to carry out successful combat operations across all theaters.

Major General Ajunwa stressed that the Army Headquarters’ focus on professionalism, readiness, sound administration, and cooperation was informed by the operational reality, with the aim of maintaining a highly skilled and well-trained army capable of effectively fulfilling its constitutional duties.

The COAS also took the opportunity to extend his congratulations to the Commandant and the entire staff of NACOLM for the successful organization of the inaugural Training on Operational Level Logistics for Personnel of the ECOWAS Standby Force.

He also commended the inclusion of the Practical Logistics Experience Scheme, which aligned with the Army Headquarters’ directive to incorporate practical training into the curriculum of Nigerian Army training institutions.

In his opening remarks, Major General Adekunle Adeyinka, the Commandant of NACOLM, stated that the graduating students commenced their training on the Logistics Staff Course on January 13, 2023, and underwent a comprehensive 24-week program.

He mentioned that 35 students were selected from the Nigerian Army, but one individual was withdrawn for administrative reasons.

The Logistics Staff Course is specifically designed to equip middle cadre officers with the necessary skills in planning and executing logistics operations to support formations, corps, tri-service, and multinational operations, utilizing modern management systems.
