Major General Adekunle Adeyinka Takes Charge As 17th Commander Of Supply And Transport Corps

After the recent reshuffling of senior officers within Nigerian Army formations and units, Major General Adekunle Adeyinka has assumed command as the 17th Commander Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST).

The official Handing and Taking Over ceremony took place on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport Conference Room in Bonny Cantonment, Victoria Island, Lagos.

During the event, Major General Erema Akerejola, the outgoing Commander Corps of Supply and Transport, expressed his gratitude to the officers and men of the Corps for their support, loyalty, and dedication throughout his tenure.

He emphasized the Corps’ responsibility of providing round-the-clock services, which demands the constant diligence and commitment of its personnel.

He also extended his appreciation to Major General Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), for the opportunity to serve the Nigerian Army in a higher capacity.

Major General Akerejola acknowledged the collective efforts of the officers and men under his command, attributing their contributions to the successes achieved during his tenure while urging them to extend the same level of support to his successor, whom he described as a highly committed and decorated senior officer with strong moral values.

In response, Major General Adekunle Adeyinka, the incoming Commander Corps of Supply and Transport, expressed his gratitude to the outgoing Corps Commander for his guidance, mentorship, warm reception, and seamless handover of command.

While commending the accomplishments of his predecessor, particularly in improving service delivery, infrastructure development, and inclusive leadership, he assured Major General Akerejola that he would build upon these achievements to further enhance the Corps’ ability to provide exemplary service.

General Adeyinka called upon the personnel under his command to align themselves with his agenda of taking the Corps to greater heights, emphasizing that the responsibility of advancing the Corps lies with everyone.

He also thanked Major General Lagbaja, the COAS, for deeming him worthy of the appointment, pledging his commitment to realizing the COAS Vision for the Nigerian Army.

The event included significant moments such as the signing of Handing and Taking Over Notes, the decoration of the new Commander Corps of Supply and Transport with the Corps Insignia, the presentation of the Corps Flag, the lowering and hoisting of flags, an inspection of the Quarter Guard, the outgoing CCST’s address to the troops, and the commissioning of various projects.

Notably, Brigadier General WL Nzidee, the former Commander of 70 Command ST, commissioned the Officers’ Transit Accommodation and Water Hydrant projects in Ashanti Barracks.
