A Combat Team from Operation SAFE HAVEN swiftly responded to a distress call in Mangu LGA.
Unfortunately, on their way, they were ambushed by a group of bandits suspected to be among the troublemakers causing unrest in the area, along Road Mangun – Pushit – Mangu.
Demonstrating professionalism and determination, the troops successfully cleared the ambush, resulting in the neutralization of three bandits.
During the operation, they also seized three AK-47 rifles, 14 rounds of 7.62 Special ammunition, a motorcycle, and a Constabulary Police ID card. Some of the assailants managed to escape, albeit with gunshot wounds.
The Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN and General Officer Commanding 3 Armoured Division, Major General AE Abubakar, emphasized the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling its mandate within the boundaries of the law.
He reaffirmed the army’s dedication to being firm, decisive, and just.
The General further emphasized that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains of paramount importance. With the relocation of his headquarters to Mangu LGA, prompt responses to distress calls are ensured, as numerous Combat Teams have been deployed to remote areas within the Local Government to enhance rapid response capabilities.
