The Nigeria Energy Exhibition and Conference, the largest and most established energy gathering in West Africa, is celebrating its 10th year anniversary.

This prominent event, taking place from September 19 to 21, 2023, in Lagos, will address the critical challenge of energy access in the region. Organized by Informa Markets, a leading global exhibitions organizer, the 10th edition of the conference is themed “Unlocking new value with reforms, investments, and technology.”

It aims to bring together government officials, private sector representatives, and investors to find solutions for the electricity sector in Nigeria and West Africa.

This milestone edition of the Nigeria Energy Exhibition and Conference will offer attendees the unique opportunity to hear from and engage with key industry stakeholders.

To commemorate the anniversary, two impactful conferences will be featured: a high-level Leadership Summit and a Technical Seminar. The Nigeria Energy Leadership Summit will gather senior stakeholders from the government, gas-to-power generation companies, independent power producers, generation, distribution, and transmission companies, technology providers, financiers, and agencies facilitating renewable and off-grid solutions. The summit’s mission is to address the most pressing issues in the energy sector.

Introducing the “Nigeria Energy Leadership Summit,” a relaunch of West Africa’s premier energy conference. This high-level summit aims to bring together all key stakeholders involved in the energy value chain. Participants will include government leaders, gas companies supplying fuel to grid-connected plants, independent power producers, generation, distribution, and transmission companies, technology providers, as well as agencies facilitating the development of renewable and off-grid solutions.

The primary objective of this strategic conference is to establish a platform for both the public and private sectors in Nigeria to engage with international energy leaders and investors. Beyond knowledge sharing, this platform will foster the development of solutions and partnerships to address Nigeria’s energy challenges.

By attracting top decision-makers and international partners, the Nigeria Energy Leadership Summit will lay the foundation for the country’s power sector in the coming years.

The summit’s focus will extend beyond improving access to electricity; it will also drive economic growth and create employment opportunities for Nigerians. Through this initiative, we aim to provide a comprehensive blueprint for Nigeria’s power sector, addressing not only immediate needs but also long-term goals.

Exhibition Director – Energy Portfolio – MEA at Informa Markets, Ade Yesufu, emphasized that Nigeria and West Africa’s energy sector is undergoing a significant transformation focused on energy access.

With abundant natural resources, Nigeria has the potential to improve its electrification rate and achieve its energy goals through proper investments and policies.

The Nigeria Energy Exhibition and Conference has been instrumental in gathering local and international stakeholders over the years to collaborate and find solutions to the region’s energy challenges. The 2023 edition, marking the 10th anniversary, will build on past successes and offer special high-level seminars to propose viable mechanisms for solving energy sector challenges.

The Conference will bring together energy equipment manufacturers, distributors, procurement professionals, dealers, and regulators to discuss unlocking new value through reforms, investments, and technology. The event expects to attract over 5,000 energy stakeholders, with more than 150 exhibitors and three international pavilions from China, Germany, and Turkey.

The conference will cover key topics such as power sector decentralization, the role of natural gas in achieving a net-zero economy, funding opportunities, the steps taken by distribution companies (DisCos) to encourage climate-driven investments, emission trading reforms in Africa, and leveraging the power of digital technology to deliver value to customers.

The show floor for Nigeria Energy 2023 is already fully booked, with several key exhibitors confirmed, including Skipper as the main event sponsor and prominent names from the renewable energy sector such as Jinko Solar, Simba, Felicity Solar, Xtrapower, Kartel, Fronius, SMA Sunbelt, JA Solar, Lithium Battery, Powermax, and Growatt, among others.
