Asharami Synergy Collaborates With NMDPRA, Customers To Promote Clean Energy Initiatives

Asharami Synergy, a leading player in the downstream sector under Sahara Group, has reaffirmed its dedication to advancing the adoption of cleaner fuels within the industry. Collaborating with regulatory bodies and prioritizing responsible fuel solutions, the company aims to contribute to environmental sustainability in Nigeria’s downstream operations.

During the Asharami Synergy 2024 Customer Forum, Managing Director Foluso Sobanjo emphasized the company’s commitment to driving environmental sustainability across the downstream sector’s value chain. Sobanjo highlighted Asharami’s provision of low-sulfur fuels, adhering to Afri-5 specifications as prescribed by the African Refiners and Distributors Association (ARDA) and in alignment with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021.

Sobanjo assured customers that the switch to low-sulfur fuel specifications does not compromise quality or performance. Instead, it aligns with standards set by the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), offering environmentally friendly fuel options.

The Managing Director stressed the company’s commitment to delivering energy responsibly and driving the adoption of cleaner fuel in Nigeria. He expressed satisfaction in the positive response from customers and end-users, noting that informed acceptance of these changes is crucial for industry-wide progress.

Engr. Oluwakayode Oyegoke, representing the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), commended Asharami Synergy for fostering awareness about the benefits of cleaner fuels. He emphasized the importance of reducing pollution and promoting public health through such initiatives.

Adeoti Onabolu, Chief Marketing Officer of Asharami Synergy, expressed gratitude to customers for their support, emphasizing the company’s commitment to delivering energy solutions responsibly. Leveraging Sahara Group’s global presence and strategic investments, Asharami aims to provide exceptional fuel solutions across sub-Saharan Africa.

Onabolu highlighted Asharami’s vertically integrated downstream business model, emphasizing its focus on quality, safety, and environmental sustainability. The company’s ISO certifications underscore its dedication to service excellence and innovation.

Chief Operating Officer Adekanmi Adesola reiterated Asharami’s commitment to driving product quality, availability, and competitive pricing while collaborating with customers to create value responsibly.

Chief Marketing Officer, Onabolu shed light on the company’s commitment to enhancing service quality and promoting cleaner energy solutions. Onabolu emphasized that the forum aimed to educate participants, including clients and industry stakeholders, about the latest specifications and regulations for Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).

Onabolu highlighted the significance of engaging with stakeholders to gather feedback on Asharamic Synergy’s services and performance. According to Onabolu, this transparent approach reflects Asharamic Synergy’s commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Regarding the transition towards cleaner energy solutions, Onabolu revealed that Asharamic Synergy has already begun importing cleaner fuel specifications. He expressed optimism about the outcomes of the forum, describing it as a step towards strengthening relationships with customers and advancing the company’s sustainability goals.

Head of Distribution System Storage Infrastructure at the Nigeria Mainstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Engineer Oluwakayode Emmanuel Oyegoke emphasized its positive impact on public health and productivity. With reduced sulphur emissions, the environment becomes healthier, leading to fewer instances of illness and increased productivity among the populace.

Furthermore, Engineer Oyegoke stressed the regulatory requirement for all fuel products to meet the specified sulphur content, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and contributing to a cleaner, greener future for the nation.

Also speaking at the forum, Alhaji Ismail Abodurin from El-Alan Construction Company shared insights from the customer’s perspective. He commended Asharamic Synergy for their efforts in introducing cleaner energy solutions and highlighted the positive impact of these products on both equipment lifespan and environmental emissions. 

Abodurin emphasized the importance of emulating Asharamic Synergy’s example in promoting sustainability within the industry.
