CP Omodehinde Ayotunde Godwin Takes Over SFU

The Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) in Lagos has announced the appointment of CP Ayotunde Godwin Omodeinde as its 30th Commissioner of Police. CP Omodeinde succeeds AIG Margaret Agebe Ochalla, who has been promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police and reassigned to the Police Force Headquarters Annex in Obalende, Lagos.

CP Omodeinde, a native of Ijebu North East Local Government Area of Ogun State, brings extensive experience and a strong educational background to his new role. He holds a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Ibadan and an Advanced Diploma in Information Technology Management from APTECH. He was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and trained at the Police Academy Annex in Kaduna.

Renowned for his expertise in ICT-based law enforcement, CP Omodeinde is a seasoned investigator and operations expert. His previous assignments include serving as the Officer in Charge of Okuku Police Station in Cross River State, Divisional Police Officer at Ogoja Divisional Police Headquarters, Officer in Charge of Police Training School in Calabar, and various roles at the IGP Monitoring Unit and ICT departments within the Nigeria Police Force. Before his promotion to Commissioner of Police, he was the Deputy Commissioner of Police for Operations in Cross River State.

Internationally, CP Omodeinde has served with the United Nations in Kosovo and Liberia, earning multiple UN Mission Medal Awards and commendations for his service. His international training includes courses at the National War College in Abuja, the Police Staff College in Jos, and strategic leadership programs.

CP Omodeinde is committed to teamwork, dedication, and discipline, qualities he plans to bring to his new role at PSFU. He is married with children and enjoys ICT and cooking in his leisure time.
