Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested a domestic worker, identified as Mr. Divine Ifeanyi Nnalue, for allegedly stealing and fleeing with his employer’s car in the 33 area of Onitsha.
The arrest was made on the evening of Thursday, June 13, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation by officers attached to the 33 Police Division. The suspect was apprehended at Ugbeji-Okpanam, near Asaba in Delta State.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspect confessed during interrogation that he had already sold the stolen vehicle—a black Toyota Camry with registration number ENU 289 JF—to an unidentified buyer.
The car was reported to have been taken from the employer’s residence at Trinity Avenue, Federal Housing Estate, in the 33 area.
“Following the suspect’s confession, our operatives are actively pursuing leads to recover the vehicle and apprehend other individuals connected to the crime,” SP Ikenga stated.
He emphasized that the arrest reflects the Command’s determination to track down offenders who betray trust and engage in criminal acts, reiterating the police’s commitment to protecting citizens’ properties and ensuring justice is served.
The Anambra State Police Command urges members of the public to remain vigilant when engaging domestic workers and to promptly report any suspicious activity.
