To maintain operational preparedness and physical fitness, Forward Operating Base (FOB) FORMOSO conducted its Second Quarter Route March on Saturday, June 27, 2026. This event, in accordance with the Nigerian Navy’s 2026 Schedule of Events, traversed the Egweama and Liama Communities within Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The exercise saw a significant turnout of officers, ratings, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members stationed at the Base, and security personnel from the host community. Their active participation in the march underscored the robust synergy between the Base and its surrounding communities.
Following the exercise, Captain S.K. Haruna, the Commanding Officer of FOB FORMOSO, commended the impressive turnout and commitment demonstrated by all participants. He emphasized that route marches are a vital component of military training, designed to enhance endurance, sustain combat readiness, and ensure personnel are poised to respond promptly to evolving operational challenges. Captain Haruna also expressed gratitude to the NYSC members and community security personnel for their support, which enriched the event. He characterized their presence as a clear indication of the harmonious relationship between the Base and its host communities.
The exercise concluded on a high note with three hearty cheers in honor of the Commanding Officer, signifying the successful completion of the Second Quarter Route March.
