FOB FORMOSO HOLDS SPECIAL JUMAT PRAYER TO MARK NIGERIAN NAVY 70TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

As part of activities marking the Nigerian Navy 70th Anniversary Celebration, on 22 May 26 Forward Operating Base FORMOSO, commanded by Capt SK HARUNA, held a special Jumat Prayer at the Forward Operating Base FORMOSO Mosque.

The solemn prayer session attracted officers, ratings, civilian staff, and friends of the Nigerian Navy who gathered to seek Allah’s guidance and blessings for the Service and the nation.

Delivering his sermon during the prayer, the Imam of the base Mosque Abdulkadir Abdulkareem emphasized the importance of peace, unity, cooperation, and dedication to duty. He further prayed for the continued progress of the Nigerian Navy and urged personnel to remain steadfast in doing the will of Almighty Allah while carrying out their responsibilities as naval personnel.

The Commanding Officer, Capt SK HARUNA, who was represented by the Acting Executive Officer, Lt Cdr GH YARO, conveyed the goodwill message of the Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral I Abbas to personnel of the Base. In the message, the Chief of the Naval Staff charged officers and ratings to remain committed to professionalism, discipline, innovation, and selflessness in the discharge of their duties.

The message further stressed that the responsibility of taking the Nigerian Navy to greater heights rests on all personnel, while also encouraging them to enhance operational capabilities towards effectively securing Nigeria’s maritime environment in support of national security and economic prosperity.

The special Jumat Prayer ended with a group photograph session and light refreshments for personnel and guests in attendance.
