The Naval Officers Wives Association tasked public-spirited Nigerians to always show benevolence to orphans and the less privileged children in society.

The NOWA Coordinator, Lagos Zone, Mrs Zainab Akpan, made the call while donating food items and various other consumables to Mary’s Perpetual Help Foundation Orphanage, Satellite Town as part of activities commemorating the 2023 Nigerian Navy Week and the Children’s Day celebration.

She disclosed that the donation was an initiative of NOWA’s National President, Hajiya Nana Aisha Gambo.

“The gesture was borne out of the humanitarian heart of the NOWA President, Hajiya Nana Aisha Gambo, who believes orphans should not be left out in anyway” she stated.

Akpan, in her address, said, “Our National President is a humanitarian. She has a very large heart. So out of her kind gesture, she decided that during Children’s Day, the orphanage should not be left out. That is why we came as wives of the Naval Officers to represent her.”
