The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) has announced a significant advancement in its lease and service agreement with Tingo Mobile Limited, a major provider of mobile and fintech solutions in Nigeria.
The Association’s President, Dr. Farouk Rabiu Mudi disclosed this in a statement made available to www.hybridnewsng.com
AFAN revealed that approximately 11 million of its members have embraced Tingo Mobile’s smartphone and fintech applications, including the Nwassa platform, in their daily agricultural operations.
The update marks a substantial stride towards AFAN’s objective, which was established on December 14, 2022, to grant its members access to cutting-edge mobile technology and financial services.
Furthermore, some AFAN members have initiated the process of offering their produce for processing to Tingo Foods Plc, an affiliated company of Tingo Mobile.
Farouk Rabiu expressed his thoughts on the matter, stating, “We are encouraged by the progress we have witnessed through our collaboration with Tingo Mobile.
The adoption of digital technology among our members is growing, and a number of our farmers have begun engaging with Tingo Foods Plc. We remain optimistic for further growth and enhanced utilization of the products and services provided by Tingo and its group of companies.”
This collaboration underscores AFAN’s commitment to modernizing agricultural practices and ensuring that its members are equipped with the necessary tools to adapt to the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
AFAN, which stands for the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, serves as the central organization encompassing all farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and associations across Nigeria. Its primary objective revolves around advocating for the welfare of farmers and fostering the growth and advancement of agriculture in the country.
