Meet 33rd Anambra State Command’s Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye As He Assumes Duty

CP Aderemi Adeoye has assumed the position of the 33rd Commissioner of Police for the Anambra State Command. Born on August 19, 1966, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, he hails from Modakeke in Ife-East LGA, Osun State.

CP Adeoye holds a Bachelor of Science (BSC) degree in Botany from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, and a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Ibadan.

He joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 1, 1989, and upon completing his training, he served in various roles, including Patrol & Guard Officer, Divisional Crime Officer, and Detective in the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta and Awka.

He was the pioneer Officer Commander of the Anambra State Troopers and served as a Sector Commander for the Joint Task Force against Boko Haram in Borno State. In addition, CP Adeoye held positions as Divisional Police Officer in Olu Obasanjo and Special Area Divisions in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

As Deputy Commissioner of Police, he served as the DC in charge of Finance & Administration at the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Alagbon, Lagos. He also served as the DC Police Mobile Force Coordinator for the South-East region in operations aimed at restoring peace.

From 2021 to 2022, he served as the DC Operations in the Anambra State Police Command. Prior to assuming his current role, he was the Commissioner of Police in charge of Anti-Human Trafficking at the Force CID in Alagbon, Lagos.

CP Aderemi Adeoye has undergone various professional and staff courses, including the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College in Jos, Squadron Command Course in Eden Hills, Nassarawa State, and the International Defense Management Course at the Naval Post Graduate School in California.

He also completed the Crime Prevention in the Digital Age course at the Galilee Institute of Management in Israel.

Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of serving in international capacities. He served as the Special Assistant to the United Nations Commissioner and Crime Analyst for the United Nations Mission in Liberia. He also served the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for five years, where he rose to the position of Police Coordinator.

CP Adeoye has received several commendations for his courage, leadership, and diligent investigation, including the Inspector General Police Commendation, Joint Task Force Commander’s Commendation, Rotary Club, and Lion’s Club awards for vocational service, as well as the Commissioner of Police Award.

CP Adeoye is a fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration and a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). In his free time, he enjoys playing table tennis, reading, traveling, and watching movies. He is married and blessed with four children.
