The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, has emphasized the vital role of information in the success of military operations.
He made this known during a visit by the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, to the Army Headquarters in Abuja on July 11, 2023.
Gen Lagbaja highlighted that the visit provided an opportunity for the Nigerian Army (NA) to receive feedback on the security situation in Kaduna State and the desires of the people for the NA to sustain operations and establish enduring peace and stability in the region.
The COAS expressed gratitude to the Kaduna State Government for their support and collaboration with the NA in the restoration of peace and tranquility.
He underscored the importance of timely information in military operations, enabling proactive measures by the troops.
Recognizing Kaduna State as a steadfast and reliable ally of the NA, the COAS acknowledged its significance as a home to numerous military institutions and formations, earning a special place in the hearts of military personnel.
Gen Lagbaja commended the Governor for being the first to visit the Army Headquarters since assuming office as the 23rd COAS. He assured the Governor and the people of Kaduna State that the NA would remain determined in its pursuit of sustainable peace and stability in the state.
In his earlier statement, Senator Uba Sani, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, congratulated the COAS on his appointment and expressed appreciation for his exceptional performance as the former General Officer Commanding 1 Division.
The Governor urged the COAS to increase intervention in combating banditry and other criminal activities in Southern Kaduna.
Furthermore, the Governor pledged full support from his government to the NA and other security agencies engaged in addressing the security challenges within the state.
