The police personnel in Obosi carried out a patrol On 20th July 2023, at approximately 11:30 AM, and encountered a 3-man criminal gang traveling in a tricycle near Littlewood Estate.
The gang initiated a firefight with the police operatives but eventually succumbed to the superior firepower of the officers. As a result, two of the criminals were arrested, both of them sustaining gunshot wounds during the confrontation. The third suspect, however, managed to escape.
During the operation, the police recovered two Berreta Pistols and two rounds of ammunition from the apprehended hoodlums.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Amaechi Precious, a 25-year-old male from Obosi, and Almazer Avalumo, a 25-year-old male from Adikpo in Benue State.
In response to this incident, Commissioner of Police CP Aderemi Adeoye has urged police officers to continue their unwavering fight against criminal elements, regardless of their location.
