Rivers State CP Urges Officers To Apprehend Criminals In Ahoada East

The newly-deployed Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Tunji Disu, made a visit to the troubled Ahoada East Local Government Area on November 15, 2023, charging officers to apprehend individuals like “2Baba” and other criminals causing unrest in the region.

Accompanied by senior Police officers, CP Disu addressed the officers at Ahoada Area Command and Division, acknowledging the challenges they face while urging them to actively pursue the arrest of the culprits.

He assured the officers of full logistical support, emphasizing the significance of their role in maintaining law and order.

Expressing concern for the safety of officers, CP Disu urged them to prioritize their safety while executing their duties and vowed that those who attack law enforcement officials will face justice.

During the visit, CP Disu and his team also went to Odieremenyi community, the site where five locals were killed on November 12, 2023.

In discussions with Ahoada East LGA Chairman, Ben Eke Esq, CP Disu pledged the command’s dedication to restoring lasting peace in the area.

He reiterated efforts to sustain peace and promised substantial measures toward achieving this goal.

Commending the Chairman for his support, CP Disu mentioned that his visit to the LGA was his primary duty as Commissioner of Police, demonstrating his commitment to the welfare of Rivers State.

In response, Ben Eke praised CP Disu’s swift visit, expressing appreciation for the Police force’s efforts despite challenges.

He assured continued government support to aid law enforcement in arresting the culprits, highlighting the importance of this action for community safety, especially with the approaching festive season.

Eke emphasized the necessity of apprehending the perpetrators to ensure the return of residents and encouraged full cooperation among security agencies to achieve this goal.

He concluded by thanking the CP for the visit and reiterated the government’s commitment to aiding law enforcement for the area’s peace and security.
