The Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College in Gwagwalada, Abuja, resonated with the call for transformative learning as the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, addressed the recently graduated officers from Senior Course 9 and Junior Course 17. Representing Deputy Comptroller General Sa’idu Galadima, Adeniyi stressed the paramount importance of continuous learning in driving change within their ranks.
Emphasizing professionalism and integrity, Adeniyi urged the graduates to maintain high standards while seizing opportunities within their commands and taking calculated risks to foster growth.
The Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, ACG Kingsley Egwuh, lauded the graduates for their dedication and highlighted their 100% success rate. He underscored the diverse training areas encompassing academic excellence, proficiency, and weapon handling, urging the graduates to infuse purpose into their careers while upholding the service’s motto of Justice and Honesty.
ACG Egwu revealed ongoing projects aimed at improving infrastructure within the college, including the replacement of worn-out furniture and the installation of solar panels.
Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies, Comptroller Oluyomi Adebakin, emphasized the curriculum’s focus on human capacity development and the establishment of a more efficient Customs allocation. Adebakin highlighted the commitment to enhancing officers’ skills while upholding high moral standards.
The Special Guest of Honor, Senator Isah Echocho, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Customs and Excise, underscored global economic challenges and encouraged the graduates to positively impact society.
