Jan 8, 2024

The Nigeria Police Force, through its recruitment board, has officially declared the initiation of physical and credentials screening for applicants seeking roles as Police Constables in both the General Duty and Specialist Cadres of the Force. Scheduled to take place nationwide from January 8th to 29th, 2024, this screening process aims to assess the eligibility of prospective candidates in their pursuit of serving the nation.

Shortlisted applicants are required to present themselves at their designated venues with several essential documents. These include evidence of physical and mental fitness from a government-recognized medical facility, proof of good character endorsed by the village/district head of the applicants, original and duplicate copies of certificates of origin duly signed by the local government chairman or secretary, national identity card/slips, ‘O’ level result(s), birth certificate or declaration of age, printed application form, completed guarantor’s form, and invitation slips.

The public, particularly applicants, are sternly cautioned against engaging in criminal activities such as document falsification or forgery during the screening process. The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) emphasizes the recruitment process’s integrity, stating that anyone caught in such illicit acts will face arrest and prosecution in line with prevailing laws.

Moreover, the IGP warns against fraudulent activities and individuals seeking personal gains by exploiting the recruitment exercise. He emphasizes the recruitment’s cost-free nature, conducted solely through official channels. Any attempts at corrupt practices should be promptly reported for necessary action.

Assuring transparency and merit-based selections, the IGP assures the public that the Police Recruitment Board consists of dedicated individuals committed to upholding fair practices throughout the recruitment exercise.
