The week-long celebration of the Nigerian Navy’s 70th Anniversary culminated in an exciting event on Saturday, May 30, 2026, as personnel from Forward Operating Base (FOB) FORMOSO competed against members of the host communities in a highly entertaining novelty volleyball match. This match exemplified sportsmanship, unity, and civil-military cooperation.
The keenly contested match, held at the Base Volleyball Court, attracted a large audience. This audience included officers, ratings, civilian staff, NYSC members, community leaders, and invited guests, all of whom gathered to witness the grand finale of the anniversary celebrations.
Amidst cheers and excitement from spectators, the FOB FORMOSO team demonstrated impressive teamwork and resilience, ultimately emerging victorious by winning three of the four games played.
